Dennis

Hi everyone, my name is Dennis, and I've been at District for almost four years. Everything about District is everything a barber would want — the environment, the culture, and just the atmosphere around us. It's something you don't see very often at most barbershops.

When you walk in here and sit in my chair, I'm a very mellow guy. I'm not very talkative. I believe people have lives outside of here — kids, family, work — and I think every person who comes in here deserves 30 minutes to an hour to themselves. So for me, it's very mellow, simple, easy talk. Ninety percent of the time it's small talk and very mellow. That's the clientele I have.

I enjoy shaving the most, because that's what sets me apart from the rest. Shear work is trendy right now — a lot of the fellas who come in here like that longer hair look. So shaving and shear work have been my favorite right now.

I was going to go to school to become a physical therapist. I wanted to help people, but when I went to college for it, I was never really interested. I was never happy. That was my cue. So I dropped out and went to Bladecraft Barber Academy, and District was the first barbershop I landed at right after that. I've loved it ever since. Being able to have that open creativity — I think everyone should have that in their everyday life: being creative, being open-minded, and trying new things.
