My name is Pablo. I've been a barber professionally for about 11 or 12 years now. I chose this industry because I felt it was a good combination of the artistic side and — you know, as an artist, a lot of times you don't really get to make money off your craft right away. So I felt it was a good way to merge a professional trade with my artistic side. Since I was a kid, I've always liked drawing, and anything to do with the arts — music and everything. So I feel like this is a good combination of both.

I'm a father of four, so everything I do, I do for my kids. They're what drives me. And I feel barbering has kept me in a lane where I can provide for them and, at the same time, work on a career that's enjoyable — a career that can make a difference not only in my life, but also in the lives of a lot of other people.

What I like most about barbering is you get to meet a lot of different people. You get to network, and it's beneficial not only as an individual and professionally, but also in the community at large. I've met a lot of clients struggling through life, and I've seen what barbering can do — what a heart-to-heart conversation can do for someone who's trying to make it through, as we all can relate. To top that off with a fresh cut and leave them feeling great, it's like the cherry on top. Barbering is a beautiful industry. It's a beautiful career. It's been the best choice I've made in my life, career-wise.

I came back to District because of the professionalism I experienced when I was here before. Not only is it professional — it has an understanding of community, and an understanding of how to provide a professional environment that's still laid-back enough for the clients and the employees, your co-workers, to enjoy the time there. There's not a day I get up and dread coming to District, you know what I mean? I'm always in search of balance, and at this stage of my life, peace and balance is pretty much where it's at. And I find that at District.
